ON-CAMPUS RECRUITMENT
Career Week
The annual fall and spring Career Week is open to all AAMU students and alumni. The three-day event features various networking opportunities, the career fair and interview day designed to maximize student/alumni and employer engagement.
Employer Information Sessions
Employers have the opportunity to offer information about their organizations and about positions available by conducting an information session. Typically, these sessions, last about an hour, are usually held in during the lunch hour between 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The CDS Center recognizes the value of forging partnerships with student groups and clubs on campus. We work directly with leaders of many student organizations to promote employer events and schedule employer events during their club meeting time.
Graduate and Professional School Day Expo
CDS collaborates on a statewide initiative, the Graduate and Professional Schools Day Expo. This event provides students the opportunity to meet admissions representatives from a variety of graduate and professional school programs. To learn more about this event, visit the Graduate and Professional Schools Day Expo event site.
On-campus Interviews
A typical full interview schedule is comprised of 13 half-hour interviews from 9:00 am until 4:30 pm, with a lunch break from noon to 1:00 pm. Employers may pre-select the students based on your review of resumes or conduct open schedules, where students sign up on a first-come, first-served basis.
Career Preparedness Week
Career Preparedness Week provides a comprehensive week of workshops and activities designed to help students prepare for career week. Highlights include resume writing workshops, dress for success presentations and mock Interviews. Employers have an opportunity to engage with students by facilitating a workshop during this event.
Federal Employment Preparation Week
Federal Employment Preparation Week is designed to provide students information and tips to apply and secure federal co-ops, internships and career opportunities. Representatives have an opportunity to host an information table or present various topics related to the federal application and interview process.
Part-time Job Fair
The Part-time Job Fair is open to all Alabama A&M University students who are seeking information about on- and off-campus part-time positions, volunteer opportunities and temporary employment. This event is held during the beginning of the fall semester.
Meetings with University Administrators & Faculty
CDS realizes that some employers want to engage with the entire University community. We recognize and appreciate the unique relationship between the two and we welcome the opportunity to work collaboratively with an employer to facilitate a meeting with administrators and/or faculty.
