Faculty and Staff

Alabama A&M University has closely monitored the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).  In the early portion of the spring semester of 2020, AAMU began preparing for the possibility of a localized outbreak. As a proactive measure, the University requested that faculty and staff provide updates on their travel plans beyond the Huntsville-Metro Area by completing a COVID-19 Self-Monitoring Form

The Office of Distance Education and Extended Studies began providing ongoing training and access for computer based instruction resources, and was readily available at (256) 372-5753 or odees@aamu.edu for more information.

Additionally, any faculty or staff member experiencing stress or concern about family members in areas impacted by COVID-19 could visit the Student Health and Counseling Center.

Faculty and Staff returning from a high-risk region/city within the past or next 14 days and is sick (or around family and/or friends) with fever and a cough, or difficulty breathing, are urged to seek medical care immediately by contacting their personal physician, calling ahead to inform them of recent travel and symptoms. Those and more updated guidelines still apply.  Contact the Student Health and Counseling Center and/or Human Resources for additional information.
