Scholarship Deadline: Friday, May 1, 2020
Scholarship Award: $1,000 renewable
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident.
- Must be currently enrolled at or planning to attend a university or community college, graduate school program, distance-learning school program, vocational or trade school located in the continental US.
Essay Topic: Submit a 500 word Maximum Essay or Submit a 3 Minute Maximum Video on the topic "How has technology impacted your learning environment?”
Save a Life Scholarship
Scholarship Deadline: Friday, May 1, 2020
Scholarship Award: $1,500 annually, non-renewable.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be a high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student.
- Must be a U.S. resident.
- Must be majoring in a field related to education or healthcare.
Essay Topic: Why did you choose your selected major or field of study: what experiences or individuals inspired you and set you on this course? How do you see yourself providing healthcare, advancing wellness, or leading and educating others in the future? Tell us how you hope to better the world through your works.
Population Media Center Scholarship
Scholarship Deadline: Friday, May 15, 2020
Scholarship Award: $1,000
Eligibility Requirements: Entrants can be from the U.S. or any other country in the world and must attend an undergraduate school in the U.S. or abroad in 2020
Essay Topic: Videos must address the topic of human population growth, be no more than 60 seconds in length and comply with contest rules. Videos will be judged solely on their content in the English language.
Zavodnick, Zavodnick & Lasky Essay Contest
Scholarship Deadline: Saturday, May 30, 2020
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be enrolled in or planning to enroll in an accredited college or university in the upcoming fall semester.
- This award is for U.S. students.
Essay Topic: Tell us how a work injury, car accident, personal injury or other disability or disabling event has impacted your life, and discuss the challenges you have faced in dealing with the injury or event.
Christopher W. Keyser Undergraduate Scholarship
Scholarship Deadline: Sunday, May 31, 2020
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be currently enrolled in a four-year college or university in the United States.
- Must be majoring or actively pursuing a degree in one of the following fields: criminal justice, pre-law studies, English, history, political science, journalism, communications.
- Must have a career interest in the legal or criminal justice fields.
Essay Topic: Applicants must write an essay between 2,000 and 3,000 words on one of the following topics:
- Police conduct is a divisive issue in our country. Do you think police officers should wear body cameras while on patrol? Do you think this will better serve the community? Explain your answer.
- There are millions of undocumented immigrants living in the United States. Should the U.S. Government grant legal status to these individuals, or deport them? Explain your answer.
- Do you think our criminal justice system is too hard on defendants? Should mandatory minumum jail sentences be higher or lower for certain offenses such as drug crimes, gun crimes, or DUIs? Explain your answer.
Unigo College Review Scholarship
Scholarship Deadline: Sunday, May 31, 2020
Scholarship Award: $1,000 annually, non-renewable
Eligibility Requirements:
- Legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia
- Thirteen (13) years of age or older at the time of application
- Enrolled (or have previously been enrolled) in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher learning (college, university or trade school)
Essay Topic: Must include a star rating and minimum 250-character written review of an accredited post-secondary institution of higher learning that is listed on Unigo.com.
Fifth Month Scholarship
Scholarship Deadline: Sunday, May 31, 2020
Scholarship Award: $1,500 scholarship.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Be thirteen (13) years of age or older at the time of application
- Be legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia
- Be currently enrolled (or enroll no later than the fall of 2026) in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education
Essay Topic: "May is the fifth month of the year. Write a letter to the number five explaining why five is important. Be serious or be funny. Either way, here's a high five to you for being original." (250 words or less)
