Scholarship Award: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.

Eligibility Requirements: 

  • Must be attending school in the 50 United States. 
  • Must be enrolled in a college or university as of the application deadline date.

Essay Topic: 1000 words or more (no more than 3000). 

Outline at least 3 steps that you plan to take in the next year to start a path towards having a career that you love. As you think of these steps, consider some of these ideas; What are your passions that could be turned into a career? What are some ideas you have for a business based on things that you love and are skilled at? We want to hear unique, well thought out ideas. Make us believers. Make us excited. Make your essay stand out!

Scholarship Award: First place, $5,000; second place, $2,500; third place, $1,000.

Eligibility Requirements:

  •  Must be 18 years of age or older as of December, 1 prior to the deadline date.
  • Students, academics, practicing attorneys, policymakers, and members of the general public are encouraged to submit essays.

Essay Topic: During the United States Supreme Court 2019 term, the Court announced in June its decision in Tennessee Wine and Spirits Retailers Association v. Thomas. Based on the Court’s decision, what do you believe will be the next steps for alcohol policy in the United States?

 

Josephine De Karman Fellowship

Scholarship DeadlineFriday, January 31, 2020

Scholarship Award: Fellows will receive approximately $25,000 annually for graduate students pursuing a PhD.

Eligibility Requirements: 

  • Must be a college junior who will enter his/her senior year in the fall following the deadline, or a candidate for a Ph.D. who will defend his/her dissertation by June. Postdoctoral and master's degree students are not eligible.
  • Must be enrolled in a university located in the United States.
  • Must demonstrate exceptional academic achievement.
  • Preference is given to students who are studying in the humanities

Essay Topic: To be considered for a fellowship your completed application, unofficial transcripts of your graduate and undergraduate studies, and two letters of recommendation must be received in one package

 

I Have a Dream Scholarship

Scholarship Award: $1,500 annually, non-renewable. 

Eligibility Requirements: 

  • Must be 13 years of age or older at time of application.
  • Must be a legal U.S. resident.
  • Must be a resident of one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia.
  • This award is for U.S. students.

Essay Topic: "We want to know... what do you dream about? Whether it's some bizarre dream you had last week, or your hopes for the future, share your dreams with us for a chance to win $1,500 for college." (250 words or less).
