Oral Presentaion Guidelines
Graduate students are invited to present their research in a concise, engaging three-minute oral presentation designed for a broad academic audience. Presentations should clearly communicate the significance and impact of the research using slides. These sessions are open exclusively to graduate students, fostering focused scholarly exchange and constructive feedback within the graduate community.
Abstract submission
Abstract Submission for Entry: To be eligible as a presenter, an abstract must be submitted. Entries must be an original creation of the student. Abstracts should be 300 Words or less, include all co-authors, mentors, department, and key words. Refer to the provided example. All abstracts must be submitted electronically no later than deadline.

A Systematic Analysis of Parameter Effects on System Performance Morgan Davis, John Doe*, Alex Lee Mentor(s): Dr. Alex Lee Department of Engineering This study investigates the impact of key parameters on the performance of a representative system using a controlled experimental framework. Measurements were collected across multiple test conditions, and results were analyzed using standard statistical and computational techniques. The findings reveal a consistent relationship between Parameter A, Parameter B, and overall system efficiency, with observed trends aligning with theoretical expectations. Quantitative evaluation confirms the robustness of the results within defined operating ranges. These outcomes provide insight into the underlying mechanisms governing system behavior and offer guidance for the optimization and future development of similar systems. Keywords: System performance, parameter analysis, experimental evaluation *Indicates presenter |
The deadline for STEM Day 2026 abstracts is
Monday, March 9, 2026 at 11:59pm.
Presentation Format and Requirements
Length of the Presentation: Each presentation is limited to 3 minutes plus 2 additional minutes for questions and answers from the audience.
Format: Graduate oral presentations should include a slide deck to support and structure the talk. Slides should be visually clear and concise, using key points, figures, or diagrams rather than dense text. It is highly recommended that presenters limit their slides to no more than twthree slides given the time limit.
Requirements for Entry: Submissions must be from a graduate student.
Dress Code Recommendation: Business professional or business casual attire is recommended. Presenters should dress neatly and professionally, appropriate for an academic conference setting. Clothing should be clean, well-fitted, and non-distracting. Comfortable footwear is recommended, as presenters will be standing during their presentations.
Submission of Slides: Approximately one week to a few days before STEM Day, graduate oral presenters will receive an email requesting that they upload their presentation slides. A computer with each presenter’s slides preloaded will be provided on the day of the event. Presenters are still strongly encouraged to bring a flash drive containing their presentation as a backup in case of technical issues.
