Dr. Yancili Lozano-Torres
A proud Afro-Latina, Dr. Lozano is a practitioner and researcher dedicated to social justice. She holds a Ph.D. in Urban and Regional Planning and a Master of Science in Economics from the Florida State University. Her areas of research include: feminist urban planning, local governance and urban policies for marginalized groups, comparative analyses, Latinx, and mixed methods. Dr. Lozano has worked in local government (e.g. deputy mayor in her hometown), and conducted consulting and NGO work in Colombia. She has also taught in higher education since 2007, including Universidad del Pacífico (Colombia) and Florida State University.
