The CALNS celebrated the 135th Anniversary of the Second Morrill Act.  The FAS family was well represented and had a great day marching in solidarity.

AAMU Food Science faculty, students, and staff travelled to Chicago, IL to present, learn, and engage.

2 FAS graduate students won in the oral research competition (First Place - Katelyn Boyle-Product Development division)(Second Place - Harpreet Singh-Toxicology division)  as well as others who were selected to present: Mariam Yakubu - 1 presentation (Food Toxicology-Dr. Boateng), Sai Vinay Madala - 1 presentation (Food Engineering-Dr Kassama), Karthik Medabalimi - 2 presentations (Nutritional Biochemistry-Dr. Verghese, Katelyn Boyle - 2 presentations (Nutritional Biochemistry and Product Development- Dr. Verghese), Harpreet Singh - 2 presentations (Nutritional Biochemistry -Dr. Verghese)

February 19, 2025, the AAMU Food Science faculty, students, and staff participated in the Southeastern Section of the IFT (SEIFT) Suppliers/Food Industry EXPO and Educational Program at the Cobb Galleria in Atlanta, GA.  There are some summary photos below but to read the full document please click here.

Madison Wright wins 3rd place in 3MT at SEIFT 2025

Madison Wright won third place in the 3-Minute Thesis (3MT) competition for "Consumer Perception of Natural and Synthetic Colors and Flavors: The Development of a Functional Mint-Based Beverage".
