ABHS Student Story
- Internship Requirements
- Students must have and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.7 or greater
- Students must complete and have on file with Dr. Dalrymple the following documents prior to starting their internship:
- Application
- Insurance Waiver Form
- Students are required to have the evaluation form completed by their site mentor for submission to Dr. Vizcarra and Dr. Dalrymple at the end of their rotation
- Students will be expected to present on their internship experience after completing their rotation in a seminar format
- Students are expected to complete a final report (at least 500 words) and submitted by the end of the internship.
- Keep up-to-date records, reports and documentation related to the work that is performed during your internship.
- Students must complete an ‘End of Rotation’ survey that will help to improve the ABHS Internship experience.
- Internship Benefits
- Student can earn a stipend from the ABHS program
- $20/h
- Minimum of 100 hours
- Maximum of 200 hours
- Student can receive credit for partial fulfillment of FAS 491
- Students will gain hands-on experience

- Students Commitment to the ABHS Internship
- ABHS students are expected to commit to their internship assignment.
- Students are asked not to take a spot another student could have received.
- Students are expected to maintain an open communication with their site mentor, Dr. Dalrymple, and Dr. Vizcarra for any changes that may arise.
- Students must attend all scheduled dates for their internship.
- Excessive absence can result in one or all of the following: removal from the internship, stipend retracted, no possibility of another internship placement.
- Students must be on time for their internships.
- Excessive tardiness can lead to any or all of the outcomes listed above.
- Students should take this opportunity seriously, just like your employment.
- Partnerships created with the external partners take time and effort. The negative actions created can jeopardize future opportunities for other students in the program.
- Always maintain a professional and positive behavior and attitude.
- It is the student’s responsibility to find out from their site mentor appropriate clothing to wear to each site.
