First-Time Graduate

A student who has earned a baccalaureate degree and has not previously been a graduate student at Alabama A&M University. Student must submit an application for admission.

International Students

A student who is not a United States citizen or resident alien. International students who completed a bachelor's degree out of the country will apply through Graduate Studies.

Re-Admit Students

A student previously admitted and enrolled in graduate studies at Alabama A&M University. Student must submit an updated application for admission if not enrolled at Alabama A&M University in the most recent fall or spring semester.

Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University is committed to admitting students whose academic records indicate a high potential for success. The university, consistent with its mission, is dedicated to providing higher education access and opportunity. We recognize that some students have potential for success not clearly evident through test scores alone.

Applicants for admission to graduate study at Alabama Agricultural & Mechanical University must hold a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university (or the equivalent of a four-year baccalaureate degree from another country). In many degree programs, the number of applications received from individuals qualified for graduate study regularly exceeds the number of students who can be accommodated. In such cases, only the most highly qualified are offered admission. The number of spaces available in various departments is limited according to the availability of faculty, special resources, and funds for students requiring financial assistance.
