Minor in Music
Voice Major/Minor Audition Requirements:
- Two contrasting classical vocal selections (art song, spiritual or aria) in the original language.
- One music theatre selection can be substituted for the above.
- Popular music (gospel, R&B, etc.) is not acceptable.
- Please bring printed copies of your sheet music to the audition. The pianist will need it to accompany you. If you prefer to use your own accompanist, please email Dr. Shonda Devine BEFORE your audition at shonda.devine@aamu.edu
- All selections must be memorized.
- Vocalize to determine vocal range.
- Minimal Sight reading.
- 1 classical vocal selection (art song, spiritual or aria) in the original language.
- You can sing your part from a prepared previously studied choral piece. Please bring sheet music.
- Popular music (gospel, R&B, etc.) is not acceptable.
- Vocalize to determine vocal range.
- Minimal Sight reading.
Audition logistics:
- Auditions will be from 10 am-1 pm on Saturday, April 30th
- Location: Lee high school, Huntsville Alabama. 2500 Meridian St N, Huntsville, AL 35811. Voice and choir auditions are in the choir room, Band auditions are in the band room.
