Project TEACH

Project TEACH (Training Educators for All Children with Handicaps) Like a Bulldog will fully fund 60 scholars (8 traditional undergraduates and 52 TSEC candidates recommended by the district) seeking initial Class B certification in Special Education through the Bachelor of Science in Education degree (BSEd) or the Temporary Special Education Certificate (TSEC) program.

Requirements for consideration include(but are not limited to):

  1. Be approved by your sponsoring school district for T-SEC program participation,
  2. Currently hired to provide services to students with disabilities,
  3. Have basic technological skills to support virtual learning,
  4. Successful interview and impromptu writing sample, and

The Collaborative Special Education department is offering Project TEACH, an OSEP funded project to increase the number of teachers of color in special education preparation who will implement evidence-based practices for K-12 students with disabilities. This project provides financial assistance for scholars pursuing initial Class B certification in Special Education through the Bachelor of Science in Education degree (BSEd) or the Temporary Special Education Certificate (TSEC) program.

FULL TUITION FUNDING!!!

Full tuition funding will be provided to TSEC scholars over one year, which is the duration of the 5-required course bundle. Stipends for books and professional supports are other incentives offered through this program. A new cohort will begin in the Fall of each year, for the next four years, for TSEC scholars with completion of the 5 courses in Summer of the following year.
