Multi-state tour delivers record scholarship offers

AAMU Awards More Than $26 Million in Scholarships During President’s Tour
Alabama A&M University awarded more than $26 million in scholarships during its annual
President’s Scholarship Tour, reaching prospective students and families across Alabama,
Tennessee, Georgia, and Mississippi.
The multi-state tour, led by President Daniel K. Wims, celebrated academic achievement
while extending financial support to a new generation of Bulldogs. University officials
say the tour helped deliver a record number of scholarship offers as Alabama A&M anticipates
another historic incoming class.
During the tour, President Wims personally presented several levels of awards valued
from $6,000 to $125,000. Admissions leaders say the strong response across the region
reflects growing momentum for the university.
“More students than ever are expressing interest in Alabama A&M University,” said
Dwayne Green, Director of Admissions. “Families are looking for institutions that
combine academic excellence, opportunity, and affordability. We understand that scholarships
are often the deciding factor that makes higher education possible, and this tour
allows us to meet students where they are and help make their college dreams a reality.”
University officials say the scholarship tour continues to play a key role in connecting
with high-achieving students while reinforcing Alabama A&M’s commitment to access,
excellence, and opportunity.
“We are always excited about opportunities to remove barriers for talented students
who are ready to pursue their dreams,” said Dr. Braque Talley, Vice President of Student
Affairs and Enrollment Management at Alabama A&M University. “When we invest in students
this way, we are not only supporting their success, we are strengthening the future
of our university and the communities they will go on to serve.”
