ADPH Holds Town Hall on STDs
The Power of Information
The Alabama Department of Public Health held a town hall meeting at AAMU recently as part of a statewide initiative to provide awareness about sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).
Students also received information on Thrive Alabama’s “Role Model” program, which captured through interviews perspectives from people who have been adversely impacted by STDs. Warren Dates, founder of the 6:52 Project Foundation, Inc., and project coordinator for Start Talking Alabama, spoke on the importance of HIV awareness and the decreasing stigma associated with it.
