AAMU Gears Up for YMTF 2020
Inside Info about the Work World
Huntsville, Ala. ---- As the ‘Ides of March’ draws near, some great currents are on the horizon at Alabama A&M University, where the annual Youth Motivation Task Force (YMTF) will be held March 9-10.
According to Yvette Clayton, director of AAMU’s Career Development Services (CDS) more than 50 high-energy consultants will visit some 100 classrooms to provide key information about the world of work to thousands of AAMU students.
For more than four decades, the YMTF Outreach Program has provided professionals from various backgrounds – often AAMU alumni – an opportunity to interact with students within the classroom and to introduce them to careers within the private and public sectors.
Teams of two to four professionals visit classrooms across campus, where they share career advice, trials, words of wisdom and encouragement. Through their personal accomplishments, YMTF consultants show, first-hand, the personal and professional rewards that can be reaped from earning a college degree.
