AAMU Receives Microsoft Award to Advance Cybersecurity Applications

Alabama A&M University (AAMU) recently received a $135,000 competitively funded award from Microsoft to support and advance the educational and societal mission of AAMU with emphasis on cybersecurity applications.

With this Microsoft project Award, AAMU will purchase equipment to improve laboratory and classroom education infrastructure to enhance the network and simulation for cybersecurity applications, including computing and industrial controls equipment in the public utilities space. This project will also build computational support in Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning and provide resources to strengthen the electrical engineering and computer science education at AAMU.  

Dr. Daniel Wims is the institutional lead and key administrative contact on this project.  The participating AAMU project team includes Dr. Z.T. Deng, interim dean of the College of Engineering, Technology and Physical Sciences; and Dr. Andrew Scott, Dr. Kaveh Heidary and Dr. Venkata Atluri in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
