AAMU Advisor Will Present at NACADA Regional
Meeting at the Middle
The National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) has selected Dr. Selicia Hughes Kidd as a presenter for its 2022 Region 4 Conference in Atlanta, Ga., this April.
Kidd’s submission—"Let’s Meet at the Middle (School): Be the Next Black College Grad to Rock!”—will address African-American students’ lack of preparation in post-secondary general education as compared to their white and Asian counterparts.
During her discussion, Dr. Kidd will share best practices to lessen the gap to support the educational and career preparation of African-American students beginning as early as their middle school years.
Dr. Kidd earned the Ed.D. in educational leadership and professional practice from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tenn. She is the Freshman Academy academic advisor for AAMU’s College of Engineering, Technology and Physical Sciences; first-year experience instructor; and mechanical engineering learning community advisor.
