Greene Appointed Chief Strategist and Communications Officer

Mr. Samuel Greene brings to DRA over a decade experience in government affairs and policy strategy.

The Delta Regional Authority (DRA) recently announced the appointment of Alabama A&M University alumnus Samuel Greene as chief strategy and communications officer under the Biden-Harris Administration. Greene, who formerly worked as a legislative aide and outreach coordinator in the U.S. House of Representatives, started his role in July.

“Mr. Greene will be an excellent asset to Delta Regional Authority,” said DRA Federal Co-Chairman Dr. Corey Wiggins. “His years of experience as a policy strategist and government affairs professional will be much needed as we expand our relationships across the 252 counties and parishes with the eight-state DRA region to build our narrative around our impact.”

Greene, a native of the Black Belt region of Alabama, comes to DRA with over a decade of experience in public policy and brings a wealth of knowledge of engaging stakeholders at all levels of government and community. He is a graduate of Marion Military Institute and Alabama A&M University, where he majored in political science. He also holds a master's degree in urban and regional planning with an emphasis in environmental planning. Greene’s thesis work delved into “The Link Between Brownfields and Groundwater Contamination,” and it was presented before the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to help shape policy around safe drinking water.

“I am excited and humbled to be given the opportunity to serve as chief strategy and communications officer for Delta Regional Authority,” said Greene.  “I’m extremely proud of the work the Agency facilitates throughout the Delta region, and I look forward to building upon that foundation and contributing to DRA’s efforts to support job creation, build communities, and improve lives.”

In addition to his professional work, Greene serves his community in leadership capacities. He also is a member of the FBI’s Alabama Chapter of Infragard and is a board member of the Decatur-Athens Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

The Delta Regional Authority (DRA) is a federal-state partnership created by Congress in 2000 to promote and encourage the economic development of the lower Mississippi River Delta and Alabama Black Belt. DRA invests in projects supporting transportation infrastructure, basic public infrastructure, workforce training, and business development. DRA’s mission is to help create jobs, build communities, and improve the lives of those who reside in the 252 counties and parishes of the eight-state region.
