Rep. Hall Helps Arrange Biden Meeting with AAMU's Wims
U.S. President Visits Alabama
Alabama State Representative Laura V. Hall (right) continues to be a fierce advocate for AAMU and was recently instrumental in AAMU President Daniel K. Wims’ visit with U.S. President Joe Biden on his trip to Alabama, collaborating with the University’s Office of Government Affairs, led by Dr. Shannon Reeves.
Wims and other officials were on hand as Biden toured the 4,000-acre production compound of Lockheed Martin’s Pike County Operations. Dr. Wims thanked President Biden for his Alabama visit and discussed A&M’s renewed investment and commitment to research and development with federal agencies.
The AAMU administrator also was able to advocate support for HBCUs and continued investment in national defense in Alabama, thanks to assistance from Rep. Hall, who is president-elect of the National Black Caucus of State Legislators.
AAMU, through its colleges and specific departments, has developed a partnership with Lockheed Martin that spans decades.
