AAMU President Offers Solution to Current Unrest
Solutions Through Civic Engagement
Huntsville, Ala. (6/4/2020) ---- The President of Alabama A&M University has issued a statement on the series of events around the nation that have “adversely impacted communities of color” and which have spurred much unrest throughout a country already reeling from the devastating effects of COVID-19.
President Andrew Hugine, Jr., shared his expressions on the constant barrage of often brutal incidents that have long swept up within them the lives of far too many, including the late George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery, to name only two.
Please read President Hugine’s letter in its entirety HERE.
Moreover, in addition to stressing the importance of completing Census data, President Hugine offered and encouraged students to seek solutions through a process that provides them a voice at the local, state and national levels.
