Retired Dean Pens Book of Meditations
"Victory in the Storm"
Dr. Delores Johnson Price often was asked to provide inspirational thoughts whenever she participated in various meetings of groups, committees and organizations. Price is a retired associate professor at Alabama A&M University, where she served as interim dean of the College of Education, Humanities and Behavioral Sciences. She was also chairperson and faculty member in the Department of Educational Leadership.
Price refers to “Victory in the Storm,” her collection of 30 hope-filled meditations, as a “weapon in combating the ravages of our society, those in general and those caused by fall-out from the COVID-19 pandemic.”
She served a collective eight years on the Alabama Women’s Commission under the administrations of Governors Bon Riley and Robert Bentley. Other volunteer experience includes her leadership within Links, Inc. - Greater Huntsville Area Chapter, as a past chaplain and as past chair of the organization’s National Trends Facet.
Among her professional specialties are educational consultant for curriculum assessment, guiding low-performing schools, faculty/staff professional development, parental involvement (unit on involving incarcerated parents), recruitment and retention of teachers, and building teacher morale and establishing a positive school climate.
A doctoral graduate of Loyola University Chicago, Price remains a highly sought-after speaker and workshop presenter, and is the recipient of numerous awards and honors.
Promos for the nearly 128-page book refer the document as a “lifeboat” that carries readers “safely to shore.” The book is available in Kindle and paperback versions via Amazon.com and other locations.
