AAMU Holding Lead in "Retool" Contest
Students Gain Substantial Lead Over No. 2 Howard
The Alabama A&M University family has substantially taken the lead in the annual Home Depot “Retool Your School” Contest held among historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs).
“It’s clear that Alabama A&M is a force!” said Dr. Kyla Pitcher, interim associate vice president for student affairs/dean of students. “Let’s keep going! We’ve got to hold the line until March 15!”
Pitcher, also campus coordinator of the “Retool” drive, noted that AAMU students have been forming voting shifts and have been heavily pushing the school forward in the social media area.
As of Sunday evening, February 21, AAMU was leading Cluster 1 with more than 172,000, with Howard University running a distant second place (99,952).
