NFL Veteran and Author Jeremiah Brown Headlines Mental Health Symposium

Alabama A&M University will host its 2nd Annual Flourish: Mental Health Symposium on Saturday, March 22, at 2 p.m. at the Ernest L. Knight Center. Organized by the Office of Residential Life and Housing, Inter-Residential Hall Council, and Student Health and Counseling, the event is in partnership with Flowers of the Future Foundation and the Players Coalition.

Headlining this year’s symposium is former NFL player Jeremiah Brown, a speaker, author, and educational consultant dedicated to inspiring personal growth and servant leadership. His keynote address will set the stage for a thought-provoking panel discussion featuring mental health advocates and wellness experts.

The panel includes:

Trey Flowers

Trey Flowers – Former NFL player and founder of the Flowers of the Future Foundation.

SOULCOLE

SOUL COLE – Former NFL player turned wellness consultant and mindfulness coach.

Raquel Hopkins

RaQuel Hopkins – Founder of Success is Complicated, specializing in leadership coaching and mental wellness.

Pharlone Toussaint

Pharlone Toussaint – Senior Director at the Center for Healing and Justice through Sport, focused on social impact in athletics.

Demetrius Smith

Demetrius Smith – Licensed Professional Counselor and founder of ICU Counseling & Mental Health Support Services.

Attendees will gain valuable insights, engage in an interactive Q&A, and participate in breakout sessions on mindfulness, stress management, and holistic well-being.

Founded by Huntsville native Trey Flowers, the Flowers of the Future Foundation has been dedicated to supporting at-risk youth through education, scholarships, and community outreach. Flowers, an NFL veteran, was the Detroit Lions' nominee for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award in 2020 for his philanthropy.
