Emmy Award-Winning Speaker Timothy Alexander to Keynote Men’s Conference
Emmy Award-winning speaker and best-selling author Timothy Alexander will headline the men’s conference “Brokenness to Blueprint” on Saturday, April 11, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Union Hill P.B. Church in Huntsville.
The free, daylong event will feature participation from Alabama A&M University leadership, including Lt. Col. Taurus Smith, assistant vice president for Military Affairs, and Duane LaRue, an AAMU crisis prevention specialist, who will serve on a featured panel addressing critical issues impacting men across generations.
Alexander, a Birmingham native, is nationally recognized for his powerful message of resilience, faith and personal transformation. An Emmy Award-winning speaker, he has inspired audiences across corporate America, higher education, athletics and faith-based organizations. His life changed in 2006 when a car accident left him paralyzed from the neck down. Defying medical expectations, Alexander regained key abilities and now shares a message centered on purpose, perseverance and possibility.
The conference will bring together leaders from higher education, ministry, finance and community engagement to address topics such as financial literacy, mental health, leadership, health awareness, social media influence, and life transitions including military service and reentry after incarceration. Sessions will also explore relationships, faith, and long-term planning through discussions on wills, estates and wealth building.
In addition to Alexander and AAMU representatives, panelists include Leland Rubin, senior vice president and co-founder of Global Financial Impact; Pastor Zachary Williams of The Potter’s Hand Church; Pastor Roger Woods of Crosspath Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and former University of Tennessee chaplain; Lionel Locke, an AAMU computer science and electrical engineering advisory board member and community youth leader; and Wilbert Hamilton, founder of Hamilton Wealth Advisors.
The conference is open to men ages 18 and older, with tailored discussions for participants ages 18 to 30 and 31 and up. Lunch will be provided. While registration is encouraged, walk-ups are welcome.
