AAMU's Radio and TV Stations Partner with Love Huntsville

WJAB-Radio and WJAB-TV staff and volunteers recently collected over 700 pairs of socks on World Kindness Day. The AAMU stations partnered with Love Huntsville to conduct a sock donation drive at the University’s main gate on Chase Road and Meridian Street. 

“We were thrilled to be able to partner with Love Huntsville in order to keep our houseless neighbors warm during the very cold winter days and nights,” says WJAB-FM Progam Manager Erica Fox Washington. “AAMU is all about Service is Sovereignty, so we felt it was necessary to put the motto to action.”  

Love Huntsville, a grassroots nonprofit with the goal of ending houselessness and intergenerational poverty, will distribute the socks. In January, WJAB will partner with First Stop, Incorporated to collect toiletries for our neighbors in need.
