Shakespearean Troupe Invited to Perform Much Ado About Nothing

Alabama A&M's Bulldog Bards head back to The Orion Amphitheater’s Artist Meadow on Thursday, September 14, to perform the iconic romantic comedy “Much Ado About Nothing.”

“We are teaming up with The Orion to celebrate The Bard himself with our fresh and modern adaptation of one of Shakespeare’s most famous romantic comedies,” says AAMU Theater Director and Assistant Professor of Communication Media Jill Balch-Coon.

The 2023-24 Bulldog Bards include:

Adam Howard, Taniya Bynum, Elon Sole, Niles Clavon, Dennis Sturdivant II, Tarica Crutcher, Jaycie Coleman, Ambrania Reeder, Isaiah Battle, Shania Shaw, Hannah Lee, Tariq White, Aprena Phillips, Justin Arrington, Christian Emonina, Trevon Smiley, Emilie Harrell, E'nya Clarke, Jazmyn Stamps, Jonathan Perkins, Kaylen Rodgers, Loren Edwards, Summer Cooper, Taylor Slack and Torrey Hobdy.

Balch-Coon says the troupe is thrilled to be invited back to The Orion following last year’s successful performance, “Bard in the Yard - A Modern Take on Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night.”

This year's performances will include a 10:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. matinee for local high school students (more info: jill.coon@aamu.edu) followed by a community performance at 6:00 p.m. All performances are FREE.
