Bulldogs Clinch Historic SWAC Title with 55-50 Win Over Grambling

AAMU Women's Basketball Wins First SWAC Regular Season Title
The Alabama A&M University women's basketball team secured a gritty victory over Grambling on Monday evening at the AAMU Event Center
to clinch the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Regular Season Championship
for the first time.
Alabama A&M, 20-9 overall, 16-1 SWAC, established control early, outscoring Grambling
16-10 in the opening quarter before extending the advantage with a strong second period
to carry a 37-25 lead into halftime. The Bulldogs weathered a second-half surge from
the Tigers and held on down the stretch to earn a 55–50 win.
With the win, Alabama A&M closes the regular season atop the SWAC standings and carries
momentum into tournament play.
The 2026 SWAC Basketball Tournament will be held from March 9–14, 2026 at Gateway Center Arena in College Park, Georgia. The tournament winner will receive an automatic invitation to the 2026 NCAA Division

Alabama A&M will remain on The Hill to host Southern University on Thursday. Tip-off
