Cameron, Hunt to be Crowned During 2026 AAMU Coronation Oct. 9

Alabama A&M University will kick off its 2026 Homecoming “A Different World, Same Bulldog Legacy” with the annual Coronation of the Royal Court, Friday, Oct. 9. The event will feature the official crowning of Niyah Cameron and Jeremiah Hunt as the 76th Miss Alabama A&M University and the second Mister Alabama A&M University, respectively.

The Coronation, to begin at 6:00 p.m. at the AAMU Event Center, celebrates the history and legacy of AAMU on the eve of Homecoming festivities October 10-17 on The Hill.

Niyah Cameron, a proud native of Atlanta, Georgia, is a senior Honors Biology major with aspirations of becoming a pediatric cardiologist. Guided by faith, purpose, and a love for people, her journey on The Hill has been shaped by service, perseverance, and leadership.

Jeremiah Hunt, a native of Conyers, Georgia, is a senior Sport Management major at and a proud third-generation HBCU student. Inspired by his family’s legacy in education and the guidance of influential mentors, Jeremiah developed a passion for leadership, mentorship, and creating opportunities for young people.

Cameron began her campus involvement through student publications and later expanded her service through the Honors Program, where she has served as Secretary, mentor, and Teacher’s Assistant. She has also contributed to the university community as a student photographer and Aramark student worker. Her passion for medicine has been strengthened through undergraduate research, including computational studies focused on HIV-1 entry mechanisms and alternative cellular receptors.

Throughout his time on The Hill, Hunt has demonstrated his commitment to service through involvement in the Collegiate 100, University Echoes Student Ambassadors, Honors Program, and Pre-Alumni Association. He has also represented the HBCU community through Historically Black Since and HBCU Friendsgiving. Beyond campus, his experiences with Breakthrough Birmingham and the Frank J. Williams Boys & Girls Club have strengthened his dedication to youth development and community engagement.

Niyah’s path to becoming the 76th Miss Alabama A&M University reflects resilience and trust in God’s timing. After experiencing disappointment in a previous pageant, Niyah continued to serve, grow, and believe in her purpose. Shortly after earning the crown, she also became a member of the Gamma Mu Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

In April 2026, Jeremiah was elected the 2nd Mister Alabama A&M University. His platform, H.U.N.T., stands for Honoring Legacy, Uniting the Hill, Nurturing the Next Generation of Leaders, and Transforming Today’s Tomorrow. Through this platform, he strives to foster unity, inspire leadership, and create a lasting impact on the Bulldog community.

As Miss AAMU, Cameron is committed to helping every Bulldog feel seen, heard, and valued. Through her P.E.A.C.H. Promise, “Rooted in Grace, Grown for Service,” she encourages others to lead with purpose, embrace authenticity, strengthen their communities, and honor the legacy of Alabama A&M.
