Veterans Day 2019 Program Scheduled

The Fourteenth Annual Veterans Day Program has been scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 5, at the Ernest L. Knight Reception Center, according to Alabama A&M University’s Office of Veterans Affairs & Disability Services.

Command Sergeant Major Nathaniel J. Bartee, Sr., is the featured speaker for the event.  CSM Bartee retired From the United States Army after 33 years of active duty service. He served in several key enlisted positions.  CSM Bartee is a graduate of several military courses and academies, including Warrior Leader Course at Fort Hood, Tex.; Advance Leader Course, Honor Graduate at Fort Eustis, Va.; Senior Leader Course, Honor Graduate at Fort Eustis, Va.; First Sergeant Course, Top 20% at the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy at Fort Bliss, Tex.; Sergeant Major Course, Class #56, Top 20% at the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy at Fort Bliss, Tex.; Master Fitness Trainer Course, at Fort Benning, Ga.; Master Driver Certification Course at Fort Eustis, Va.; General Fund Enterprise Business System Course at Rock Island Arsenal, Ill.; CSM/SGM Executive Education Course at The Army War College, Carlisle Barracks, Pa.; 3rd CSM Legal Orientation Course, Charlottesville, Va.; and Army Force Management/How the Army Runs Course, Fort Belvoir, Va. 

CSM Bartee's previous deployments include Kuwait “Desert Storm/Desert Shield”; Iraq “Operation Iraqi Freedom”; Kuwait “Operation Enduring Freedom”; Afghanistan “Operation Enduring Freedom”; Iraq “Operation Inherent Resolve”; and Afghanistan “Operation Freedom Sentinel”. 

CSM Bartee lists among his awards the Legion of Merit (2nd OLC): Bronze Star Medal; Meritorious Service Medal, (3rd OLC); Army Commendation Medal, (3rd OLC); Army Achievement Medal, (5th OLC); Good Conduct Medal, (10th Award); Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, (w/Numeral 4); Overseas Service Ribbon, (3rd tour); National Defense Service Medal; South West Asia Service Medal; Kuwait Liberation Medal; Saudi and Kuwait Liberation Medal; Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal; International Security Assistance Force (ISAF); and many others. 

CSM Bartee holds an Associate in General Studies (AGS) from Central Texas College a B.S. in liberal arts degree (Excelsior College) and Master of Business Administration (MBA in military operation from Trident University International.

Command Sergeant Major Bartee’s last assignment in the United States Army was as the Combined Arms Support Command/Sustainment Center of Excellence and Fort Lee, Va.  He currently serves as the 9th Grade LET 1-JROTC Instructor at Columbia High School.  CSM Bartee resides in Huntsville, Ala., with his wife, Pamela Denise Raby Bartee. They have two children: a son, Nate Jr., and a daughter, Tori.
