Helping First Year Parents Support Students
AAMU to Host Third Bulldog Parent University
Parents can now sign up for Alabama A&M University’s third Bulldog Parent University webinar.
The webinar series, hosted by the Office of Multicultural Affairs with support from departments within the Student Affairs Division, is designed to help first-year parents and families understand how they can best support their student(s).
“In today's ever-changing educational landscape, parent engagement is proving to be a critical component in achieving student success," states Dr. Pamela Little, Executive Director of the AAMU Office of Multicultural Affairs. "Research has posited a robust correlation between active parent involvement and improved student outcomes, spanning academic achievement, social skills, and overall well-being. We want to do all we can to support both students and parents.”
The third webinar, “Securing the Bag” is Monday, January 29, from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Topics include financial aid updates and understanding the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
