Free Communitywide Event on March 28 Offers Health Screenings, Expert-Led Sessions and More

AAMU Partners with The Links, Incorporated and Community Leaders to Host Black Family Wellness Expo
Alabama A&M University is proud to partner with The Links, Incorporated and leading community health organizations to host the Black Family Wellness Expo on Saturday, March 28, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the University Fitness and Recreation Center, 4900 Meridian St. in Huntsville.
Held in observance of the National Impact Day of Service, this free event is open to students, faculty, staff and the greater community. The expo is designed to empower families with access to essential health services, education and resources that support lifelong wellness.
In collaboration with the AAMU Health and Counseling Center and community partners, including North Alabama CommunityCare, HAPPI Health, Black K.A.R.E., and Vantive, the expo will provide a wide range of services and informative sessions.

Attendees can take advantage of:
- Free health screenings and assessments, including diabetes and cholesterol checks through the AAMU Mobile Clinic
- On-site health evaluations from AAMU nursing staff and mental health screenings from licensed counselors
- Educational breakout sessions covering pediatric immunizations, autism awareness, mental health and Alzheimer’s disease
- Expert updates on clinical trials, obesity, chronic disease management and men’s health
- A community blood drive hosted by LifeSouth Community Blood Centers
This event reflects Alabama A&M University’s ongoing commitment to advancing health equity and strengthening the well-being of families throughout the region.
Admission is free, and all members of the campus and surrounding community are encouraged to attend. Everyone is welcome.
