Alabama A&M University Reopens Career Closet to Empower Student Success

Alabama A&M University students preparing for interviews, internships, career fairs and other professional opportunities now have renewed access to free career-ready attire with the reopening of the Diann H. Greer Career Closet.

The Alabama A&M University Office of Student Leadership & Engagement reopened the Career Closet on Jan. 14 in the Ralph Lee Student Center, located across from the mailroom. The Career Closet provides students with access to casual and professional clothing at no cost, helping ensure students can present themselves confidently and professionally.

The Career Closet was renamed the Diann H. Greer Career Closet in honor of the longtime director of Student Activities & Leadership Development, whose dedication to student growth left a lasting impact on the AAMU community. The idea to rename the space was introduced by students and approved by the AAMU Board of Trustees.

Students may browse and select a variety of items, including suits, blazers, shirts, blouses, pants, skirts, dresses, coats, shoes, purses, accessories and other career-related attire. All items are free to students, and no appointment is required.

The Career Closet is staffed by student employees who assist with organizing donations, maintaining inventory and supporting their peers during operating hours.

Donations of new or gently used professional clothing are accepted and may be dropped off at the Ralph Lee Student Center Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Donors seeking tax documentation can pick up a tax form at the front desk of the Career Closet.
