Fundraiser and Membership Drive Runs April 26 through May 4

WJAB Seeks Volunteers for 34th Annual Jazz-A-Thon
WJAB 90.9 FM is inviting the community to be part of its 34th Anniversary Jazz-A-Thon Fundraiser and Membership Drive, taking place from Saturday, April 26 through Sunday, May 4. Volunteers are needed daily between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. for at least two-hour shifts to assist by answering telephones.
The station is calling on businesses, organizations, fraternities, sororities, civic groups, faculty, staff, students, and individuals to lend their time and support. As a listener-supported station, WJAB relies heavily on the generosity of its audience to sustain the high-quality jazz, blues, gospel, news, and public affairs programming that listeners have come to expect.
Founded in 1991, WJAB is Alabama’s first 100,000-watt public radio station based on a college campus and the Tennessee Valley’s only full-time jazz station. Broadcasting 24 hours a day, seven days a week, WJAB 90.9 FM reaches listeners across parts of Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, and Mississippi with one of the region’s most powerful signals.
Contributions made during the Jazz-A-Thon help WJAB expand its music library, enhance local programming, upgrade technology, and continue delivering the music and content the community loves. This event underscores the importance of community participation in keeping the spirit and sound of jazz alive on the airwaves.
