Alabama A&M Mourns the Loss of Timothy Lemons

Alabama A&M University is mourning the loss of Timothy Lemons, a valued member of the Bulldog family whose dedication and compassion made a meaningful impact across campus.

Lemons served in the University’s property management department for more than 20 years, where he was known for his professionalism, reliability and commitment to supporting the institution’s mission. His work played an important role in ensuring the University’s operations ran smoothly, and he earned the respect of colleagues across departments.

A graduate of Buckhorn High School, Lemons is an alumnus of Alabama State University, where he distinguished himself as a standout running back. Beyond his professional career, he was an entrepreneur, a passionate collector of classic cars and a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., reflecting his lifelong commitment to brotherhood, service and community.

Lemons was also a devoted father to four sons. His love for family was central to his life and reflected in the way he connected with others in the campus community. He was known for offering encouragement, sharing wisdom and building meaningful relationships that extended far beyond his role.

“Our Property Management team will forever carry Tim’s spirit and light,” said Jeffrey Robinson, director of the Department of Property Management. “He was truly one of a kind — a man of character whose unselfishness and willingness to help others touched countless lives across our campus and beyond. Tim brought wisdom, leadership and a sense of unity to our work, and because of him, our team became known for its reliability and excellence. His impact on us will never be forgotten.”

Colleagues remember Lemons as dependable and selfless, someone who consistently went above and beyond to support others. His presence brought comfort and encouragement, and his contributions helped strengthen the fabric of the University community.

Funeral services were held April 4.
