MMW’s Big Apple Visit Funded by Supporters and Fans

Thanks to the overwhelming support of Bulldogs everywhere, the Alabama A&M University Marching Maroon and White Band has officially raised over $500,000 for its upcoming trip to New York, NY to perform in the 2023 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Funds were raised through various initiatives and student-led efforts. 

“The outpouring of support we’ve seen from alumni, parents, and fans has been incredible,” said Mr. Band Director Carlton Wright. “We’re appreciative of how everyone in the AAMU family came together to make this happen for our students.” 

The band is scheduled to travel to New York on Monday, November 20 for 5 days of festivities including a performance of the Dancing Divas at Radio City Music Hall, attending a Broadway play, and more. 

This is more than a parade,” said Wright. “For our students, this will be wonderful experience full of lots of fun and great memories!”
