AAMU Launches Vehicle Donation Program–Any Condition–To Benefit WJAB
As Alabama A&M University continues to commemorate its 150th Anniversary, the University has announced a new partnership that turns unused vehicles – running or not – into support for a powerful cause. AAMU has teamed up with Arc Thrift Stores, Inc. – a Colorado-based nonprofit that operates the Vehicles for Charity program, to offer alumni and friends across the nation a meaningful way to give back.
“This initiative creates a new path for supporters to get involved in a unique way,” said Jamal Ali, Vice President of Marketing, Communications, and Advancement. “WJAB showcases the voices, achievements, and stories of Alabama A&M. We’re excited about generating new funding through this win-win opportunity for the AAMU community.”

Whether your vehicle is old, new, working – or not – every donation counts. Vehicles in any condition are accepted, including cars, trucks, motorcycles, RVs, boats, and more. There's no need to worry
about repairs or towing. Vehicles for Charity handles everything – from free pickup
to title transfers – at no cost to the donor.
Best of all, proceeds directly benefit WJAB Radio and TV, the University's public
broadcast stations, supporting student training and original programming. Donors will
also receive a confirmation and tax-deductable receipt for their gift.
To donate, simply call 1-866-628-2277 (CARS) or visit vehiclesforcharity.org/donate-here and select “WJAB Radio/TV” from the drop-down menu.
“This initiative reflects Alabama A&M’s commitment to innovative community partnership and sustains the powerful voice of WJAB,” said Elvin Jenkins, AAMU Director of Electronic Media Communications.

Founded in 1991, WJAB 90.9 FM was the first 100,000-watt public radio station on an Alabama college campus. It remains
the Tennessee Valley’s only full-time jazz station, and features a rich mix of jazz,
blues, gospel and NPR programming. WJAB is also home to the Alabama A&M Sports Network
and WJAB-TV, which provides students with hands-on experience in reporting, editing, and digital
content creation.
Whether it rolls, rumbles, or just rests in the driveway – your vehicle donation helps
amplify the voice of The Hill.
