Two Alabama A&M University Bulldogs recently crossed paths on the practice field of the Baltimore Ravens – and this time, they weren’t just sharing a campus legacy. One is the newest member of the team’s offensive line; the other is capturing every play from behind the lens.

Rookie Carson Vinson, recently met Da’Vonta Ealy, the Ravens’ Football Video Operations Coordinator, during practices at the Under Armour Performance Center in Owings Mills, Maryland. Their connection extends beyond the field, rooted deeply in their shared Alabama A&M experience.

“It’s really important for me to have another person from Alabama A&M in the same situation as me, because they’re able to support me from right here,” said Vinson. “I know who they are, and I know that they are great people because of our shared experience.”

Vinson is the 20th AAMU player drafted into the NFL – and the first since 2011. At 6-foot-7 and 314 pounds, the Huntsville native made history as the first Bulldog offensive lineman taken since Joe Patton was drafted in the third round by Washington in 1994. He was also the second player from an HBCU selected in the 2025 draft.

Ealy, a Dothan native and 2018 graduate, is entering his third season with the Ravens. His journey to the NFL began humbly on the Hill, filming practices as a freshman and eventually overseeing video operations for AAMU Football. That experience, coupled with NFL internships in Washington, Tennessee, and Atlanta, helped pave the way to his current role.

“I started in high school with a camera in my hands, and I never let it go,” said Ealy. “Alabama A&M helped me grow that passion into a profession. Now to see someone like Carson join this organization from the same university – it’s surreal. It’s full circle.”

In 2022, Ealy reached out to Ravens Vice President of Football Video Operations Mark Bienvenu seeking job opportunities across the league. Instead, Bienvenu asked Ealy if he’d be interested in a position with Baltimore. He started a season-long internship that May and was hired full-time in January 2023, even before the internship concluded.

Today, Ealy oversees filming and editing for coaches and team meetings – critical work that contributes directly to the team's performance.

Vinson, meanwhile, is already earning praise for his athleticism and football IQ. As he begins his NFL career, he does so knowing there’s a familiar face on the sideline – and a shared legacy between them.

“Carson’s a great example of what’s possible when you stay disciplined, focused, and grounded in your purpose,” said Ealy. “I’m proud to welcome another Bulldog to Baltimore.”
