AAMU Announces New On The Hill Live Broadcast for Football Mornings
This football season, Alabama A&M will launch a new 30-minute LIVE broadcast from Louis Crews Stadium to help Bulldog fans everywhere prepare for kickoff for all home games. On the Hill Live powered by WAFF – will feature 3 segments highlighting a preview of the day’s game, AAMU figures, and special guests throughout the season.
The live broadcasts will originate from the South Endzone of Louis Crews Stadium with on-air host Dr. Paul Bryant at 8:30 a.m. on all home football gamedays and will stream live on all platforms via 48Now, the WAFF App, and Facebook Live. The season-long AAMU-centric OTT show will be the first-of-its-kind among HBCUs and marks the first content partnership between WAFF and a college sports brand.
“More than anything this is a platform for us to celebrate our University, our student-athletes, and Bulldogs,” said Alabama A&M Director of Athletics Paul Bryant. “We want to share that spirit with the world. It’s our very own show for our fans, and it will change the game.”
In addition to live shows for each AAMU Football home game, the schedule also includes a special hour-long Magic City Classic edition to air at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 27 from Legion Field.
Students Bring the Vibe!
AAMU students are invited to fill the live audience pit and bring the energy to the
On the Hill Live set! Each week, students will get access to giveaways, music, and the coveted broadcast
backdrop pit.
For the inaugural broadcast, Saturday, September 9, the first 100 wrist-banded students will get passes to the pit which includes: free
Bojangles chicken biscuits, free Starbucks coffee, t-shirts, rally towels, posters,
and baseball caps. Line-up for wrist-bands will begin at 7:30a.m. at the Eastside
Gate. Line camp outs are allowed beginning at 7:00 a.m. The thirty-minute broadcast
will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m.
The September 9 show will also feature a performance by the Marching Maroon and White
Band.
“Our students will be a huge part of creating the vibe and excitement we want to become
emblematic of this show,” said Bryant. “We’re creating a completely new tradition
for the entire AAMU family, and I can’t wait to see how our students embrace that
and build it into its own thing.”
Fans of all ages can also be part of the excitement at each broadcast. The Eastside Gate will open - with free admission - at 7:30 a.m. for the general public to view the show, grab time on-air, and create a festive gameday atmosphere.
