Rocker Has Advisory Role on Expanding Revlon's Ethnic Hair Care Line
Rocker Appointed Chief People Officer at Revlon
Revlon Group has appointed Alabama A&M University alumna Tchernavia Rocker as the new Chief People Officer, effective June 3. Reporting directly to Chief Executive Officer Liz Smith, Rocker brings extensive leadership experience in human resources, organizational transformation, DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion), corporate strategy, and sustainability.
“I have been very fortunate to build my career and reputation working for global iconic American brands,” said Rocker. “After 18 years at Harley-Davidson and five years at Under Armour, I decided to cross industries again, this time to work in beauty. My new role as the Chief People Officer for the Revlon Holding Group is a reflection of a career of delivering results, creativity, and authenticity.”
Rocker, a Mobile, Alabama native, earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama in Huntsville and her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from AAMU in 2000. She returned to AAMU in 2017 to deliver the keynote address at the Spring Commencement.
“Standing on that stage as future leaders and history makers were being launched into the world was one of the most memorable moments of my life,” she recalled.
Rocker’s extensive career includes serving as Chief People & Transformation Officer at Under Armour and over 18 years in Human Resources (HR) leadership roles at Harley-Davidson, Inc. She also held various HR and operations roles at Goodyear Dunlop Tire North America.
In addition to her primary responsibilities, Rocker will serve in an advisory capacity to expand Revlon’s ethnic hair care line.
“This advisory role allows me to bring my business acumen and brand-building capabilities to the table,” said Rocker. “I wanted to work on the ethnic hair care portfolio to bring a relevant and authentic voice and perspective to the products that serve the African American consumer.”
Reflecting on her time at AAMU, Rocker described her experience as transformative. “For me, The Hill prepared me to navigate the world with ease through character and academic excellence,” she said. “I was fortunate to have professors that challenged me to think bigger and classmates that sparked intellectual curiosity. My strategic and critical thinking skills were sharpened, and both have served me well in every aspect of my career and life.”
Rocker’s appointment marks a significant step for Revlon in enhancing its leadership team and underscores the company’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, as well as to expanding its product offerings for a diverse consumer base.
