The Alabama A&M University Registrar’s Office hosted the Sesquicentennial Spring 2025 Grad Event Tuesday in the Knight Center. Graduating seniors attend the biannual event to connect with departments across campus to ensure they have everything they need to graduate.
“This is done every Spring and Fall semester,” said Debra Green, Assistant Registrar for Operations. “The event allows students to order their caps and gowns, complete financial aid counseling, connect with Career Development Services, and explore the Office of Alumni Affairs.”
The event is also designed to allow students to get together and celebrate their achievements. Food was provided, along with a live DJ, an interactive photo booth, and giveaways.
“It was a great excuse to come and see all of my friends and remember all of the people that were in the senior class and just have fun together,” said Zia George, a senior communicative sciences and disorders major from Birmingham, Ala.
“The grad event was informative and super fun,” added Nya Hardy, a math major from Mobile, Ala. “It’s also kind of bittersweet because it makes me realize that this is my last semester here.”
With graduation fast approaching, students eagerly anticipate closing this chapter of their lives and are looking ahead to what’s next.
“I have been accepted to Tuskegee University’s veterinary program,” said animal bio-health science major Zion Williams from Fairbanks, Alaska. “So, that will be my next challenge.”
“It’s been a long four years,” shared Jaylan Hayes-Fain, a senior electrical engineering major from Dallas. “I’m ready to go explore the world and my major and do everything I want to do.”
Alabama A&M Univerity's Spring 2025 Commencement is set for Friday May 9.
