Students Invited to Share Stories of Inspiration Before March 31 Deadline

Regions Riding Forward Scholarship Contest Offers $8,000 Opportunity for AAMU Students
Students at Alabama A&M University have an opportunity to turn a story of inspiration into meaningful scholarship support through the Regions Riding Forward Scholarship Contest, which is now accepting applications through March 31.
Sponsored by Regions Bank, the contest encourages students to reflect on individuals in their communities who have inspired them in extraordinary ways. Participants may submit either a video or written essay describing the impact that mentor, family member, teacher or community leader has had on their lives and aspirations.
The contest offers a chance to win an $8,000 scholarship that can be used toward tuition and other undergraduate expenses at an accredited college or university. Regions will award four scholarships during each quarterly contest period throughout 2026, providing multiple opportunities for students to compete for the award.
Applicants must be legal U.S. residents of eligible states including Alabama and at least 16 years old. Eligible students must have at least one year or 18 semester hours remaining before completing their undergraduate degree. Those not yet enrolled in college must begin their freshman year no later than the 2027–28 academic year. Students must also have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 or be in good academic standing.
Scholarship funds must be used for undergraduate education expenses and cannot be applied to graduate or post-undergraduate programs. Awards must be used by the end of the 2027–28 academic year.
The first quarterly contest of 2026 closes at 11:59 p.m. Central Time on March 31, with winners expected to be announced in late May.
Through the scholarship, Regions continues its commitment to supporting students and investing in the next generation of leaders while highlighting the power of mentorship and community influence.
“We are grateful for Regions Bank’s continued investment in student success,” said AAMU Annual Fund Director Kim Davis. “The Riding Forward Scholarship Contest empowers students to honor those who inspire them while competing for meaningful scholarship support. We encourage all eligible students to apply and let their voices be heard.”
