Sweet 16 Torchbearer Event Raises $137K for AAMU 150
With unmatched energy and Bulldog pride, the “Sweet 16” Torchbearer Team – a powerhouse of outstanding alumni and supporters – recently hosted a spirted reception, the latest in a series of events fueling support for AAMU during its historic sesquicentennial year.
The “Sweet 16” team has raised $137,000 in support of Alabama A&M University’s 150th Anniversary campaign – soaring past its original fundraising goal. As part of the University’s bold drive to raise a record-setting $15 million in individual donations, each Torchbearer event rallies alumni and friends to unite for a common goal: securing at least $25,000 per gathering to propel AAMU into its next 150 years.
With several events remaining, the Torchbearer initiative has generated more than $1.6 million to support scholarships, campus improvements, and more. Alumni and friends of AAMU can support the “Sweet 16” team and other campaign Torchbearers through December 31 HERE.
