AAMU Monitoring Inclement Winter Weather Conditions
The University continues to monitor inclement weather conditions impacting the area. All Alabama A&M University students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to closely monitor official AAMU email communications and Bulldog Alerts for updates throughout the weather event. Update 6:00 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26:
Alabama A&M University will resume normal campus operations tomorrow (Jan. 27). Students,
faculty, and staff should monitor official AAMU communications for updates.
Update 11:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26:
Foster Dining Hall will open from 12:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Wilson Dining Hall will remain
open until 5:00 p.m. Continuous service is available at both locations.
Update 5:00 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25:
Alabama A&M University will transition to remote learning and remote work on Monday,
January 26, due to severe weather conditions. Campus community members are encouraged to remain weather aware, as extremely cold
temperatures are expected over the next several days. Please continue to monitor official
AAMU emails and Bulldog Alerts for updates.
Campus roadways and sidewalks have been cleared again and will be re-salted at 6:00
p.m. today. On Monday, campus dining services at Wilson Hall will operate with continuous service
from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and all Bulldog Transit Services will be suspended. The University will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as additional
information becomes available.
Update 3:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24:
All residential halls and adjacent roadways have received salt treatments twice today.
Campus community members are encouraged to remain cautious when moving about campus,
as low temperatures and icy precipitation may continue to create hazardous conditions.
Please prioritize safety and remain alert to your surroundings.
Update 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24:
Campus roads are currently passable; however, some ice patches have formed. Extreme
caution is encouraged. The University is currently working to salt all campus roadways.
Bulldog Transit System (BTS) has suspended off-campus service due to city road closures.
Wilson and Foster dining halls are open, with Foster closing at 4:00 p.m. Students
in University-managed off-campus housing please monitor official AAMU emails for additional
updates.
