AAMU Announces 2025 Summer Programs and Camps
Research Experience for Secondary School Students in Ceramics/Nanostructures
June 2 – July 31
High school students in Huntsville, Madison, and surrounding areas can gain hands-on research experience in this Ceramics/Nanostructures summer program. Hosted Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., this program is designed for STEM-motivated students eager to explore scientific research. Students will work closely with a primary mentor, gaining valuable instruction in a university research setting. The program offers a stipend of $1,000 per month, and only four positions are available. Students must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and submit an official academic transcript and reference letter. Those from underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply. Accepted students under the age of 19 will need parental approval for medical and liability forms. The National Science Foundation's Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program, which supports similar programs nationwide, provides a pathway for students to immerse themselves in STEM fields, making this local opportunity a great stepping stone for future research endeavors. The deadline to apply is May 15, 2025.
Workshop on Nanoscience & Technology

Participants will gain hands-on experience, explore groundbreaking scientific concepts, and receive a $300 stipend for their engagement. Students from underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply. All applicants must submit an official academic transcript. Upon acceptance, medical and liability forms signed by a parent or guardian will be required. For more information, contact rami.bommareddi@aamu.edu. The deadline to apply is May 20, 2025.
