General Mills on Campus to Recruit Students
General Mills recently visited campus to provide internship and career opportunities to AAMU students studying food sciences. Alumnae Dr. Fredreana Hester ’13 and Dawn Nash ’20 are part of the General Mills recruitment team, which held information sessions with students during informal breakfasts, lunch and dinner in the Carver Complex.
Dr. Hester is a food scientist and cofounder of G-Works Venture Studios, a product development arm of General Mills, and has worked with the Old El Paso line and Progresso Soups. Nash is a Food Safety and Quality Engineer in Atlanta and works in the Covington General Mills plant with Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
“This is a great opportunity for our wonderful students,” said Food and Animal Sciences Chair and Professor Dr. Martha Verghese. “Currently, AAMU is the only HBCU that General Mills visits for this internship program.”
