Students Earn 4th Place in Aprio Case Competition
Alabama A&M University students recently competed in the annual Aprio Case Competition.
The event brings together 20 teams nationally to find solutions to complex cases relating
to tax advisory. The teams have a week to examine a case with the aid of Aprio advisors
before presenting their solutions that address the needs and implications of the assigned
case.
The Alabama A&M team – AAMU 1875 - including Emilio Angel (Sophomore, Accounting),
Nachaka Lizubuho (Junior, Accounting), Mia Kenton (Senior, Accounting), and Santia
Rogers (Junior, Accounting) earned 4th place in the competition.
The Aprio Case Competition helps aid in the recruitment of students of color for future internships and full-time opportunities at Aprio. This year, over 130 students applied to participate with the top 90 applications receiving invitations to compete. Aprio has 15 U.S. office locations, one in the Phillippines and more than 1,500 team members across the globe.
Team advisors are Dr. Xia Zhang (Associate professor of Accounting) and Mr. Michael Jones, CPA (Interim Bursar, AAMU).
