Eight Win Awards at Key Symposium

Eight place in four categories

Alabama A&M University’s College of Agricultural, Life and Natural Sciences (CALNS) sent some 41 students to the five-day 19th Biennial 1890 Association of Research Directors Symposium March 30-April 3 to compete poster and oral presentation sessions.

Eight students placed in four distinct categories.  In the Food Safety, Nutrition and Health category (oral presentations), undergraduate student Askia Dozier-Muhammad won first place, while graduate students Shakaree Hale and Rajwinder Kaur won first and second place, respectively.

Among the poster presentations, graduate students Varsha C. Anche and Tomaris Baker won second and third, respectively, in the Plant Health and Production/Plant Products category.  Grad student Natalia Ceron-Romero took first place in the Animal Health and Production/Animal Products category.

Rounding out the AAMU winners were graduate students Kieria L. Williams and Aliyah Riley, who took first and second place in the Family, Youth, Community and Economic Development category.
