Camp Introduces Black Males to Social Work Profession
Getting an early start for the helping professions
The Alabama A&M University Social Work Program hosted its Annual FOCUS Camp on August 17 to introduce over 60 African American males to the professional field of family and child welfare social work through the college experience.
This camp is made possible through the partnership of the AAMU Social Work Program, the Focus on the Future Mentor Program, and funding by the Title IV-E grant.
The program is also grateful to AAMU’s Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., many mentor programs throughout Huntsville, parents, social work faculty, community leaders, and students.
