Distinguished Business Innovator to Lead Annual AAMU Celebration
AAMU Alumna and Revlon Executive Tchernavia Rocker Named 2025 Homecoming Parade Grand Marshal
Alumna Tchernavia Rocker will serve as the Grand Marshal for the 2025 Homecoming Parade. A native of Mobile, Alabama, Rocker earned her Master of Business Administration from AAMU in 2000 after completing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
Currently serving as Chief People Officer at Revlon Holding Group, Rocker brings a wealth of leadership experience in human resources, organizational transformation, corporate strategy, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI). Her career spans more than two decades across some of the world’s most recognized brands. Prior to joining Revlon, she served as Chief People & Transformation Officer at Under Armour. Rocker also held senior leadership positions at Harley-Davidson, Inc. for over 18 years, in addition to earlier roles at Goodyear Dunlop Tire North America.
Beyond her professional achievements, Rocker continues to support her alma mater. She was one of the hosts of the New York Torchbearer Event on May 13, 2025, where alumni and supporters have raised $156,000 for AAMU’s 150th Anniversary Campaign.
Reflecting on her time at AAMU, Rocker described her experience as pivotal.
“For me, The Hill prepared me to navigate the world with ease through character and academic experience. I was fortunate enough to have professors who challenged me to think bigger and classmates who sparked intellectual curiosity. My strategic and critical thinking skills were sharpened, and both have served me well in every aspect of my career.”
The 2025 Homecoming Parade will take place on Saturday, October 11, at 8:00 a.m. The parade will begin at MLK Elementary School, proceed north on Meridian Street, and turn left onto Davis Drive.
The day’s festivities will continue with the Homecoming football game at 2:00 p.m. in Louis Crews Stadium, where the Bulldogs face off against Mississippi Valley State University.
