Six Awarded Scholarships at First Lady's Luncheon

The First Lady's Scholarship Luncheon offered the best in entertainment, food and academics, all part of a 90-minute tribute to the First Ladies of Alabama A&M University and in support of scholarships to deserving students.

Held in the Knight Center on Saturday, March 30, the luncheon paid tribute to the nine First Ladies of AAMU through music by saxophonist Alex Banks and performers singing excerpts from the musical "ACAPELLA!" (directed by Darryl Wormley).

The 2019 scholarships recipients were Brenton Ball, sophomore mechanical engineering major from Oxford, Ala.; Laurel Browne, a junior psychology major from Decatur, Ga.; Justin Fletcher, a junior political science major from Huntsville, Ala.; Isia Jenkins, a graduate kinesiology student from Phenix City, Ala.; Angel Owens, a sophomore marketing major from Birmingham, Ala.; and Azalyn Patterson, a junior biology major from Dorchester, Mass.
