Thirty-four Students Complete 2023 NDEP Program
NDEP Prepares AAMU Students for Careers in STEM, DoD Opportunities
Thirty-four students completed the National Defense Education Program (NDEP) this
week at Alabama A&M. The NDEP, delivers professional development and STEM career preparation
to participants through a series of lectures and training focused on developing a
talent pipeline for Department of Defense (DoD) opportunities.
Participants in the 6-week program were also invited to take part in paid internships
in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, 5G, biotechnology, autonomy, cryptography,
directed energy, microelectronics, quantum science/computing and other areas.
The goal of this DoD effort is to establish programs to better bolster the STEM workforce
for the next generation, a priority that is critical to the Department and national
security.
